Our minds, bodies, and spirits all influence each other. The concept of holistic healing encourages us to consider all aspects of our lives when we’re contemplating what changes to make in order to live our best lives. Unlike conventional western medicine, which often focuses on specific ailments in isolation, holistic healing incorporates mind, body, and spirit. For this reason, I’m a big believer in this type of outlook on wellness – and I’m also a practitioner of holistic healing in Colorado Springs.
What is Holistic Healing?
When you picture your “self” in your mind, do you imagine a body and nothing more? Or, do you also consider your mind, your emotions, and your spirituality, too?
The approach of thinking about the whole person, rather than one aspect, when finding ways to feel better and live our best lives is a mindset and a way of life. Most of us believe in some holistic wellness concepts, whether we’re aware of it or not. If you’ve ever felt “hangry,” you know that a lack of nourishment can impact your mood. Research has proven that chronic stress can make you physically sick by weakening your immune system.
So, the outlook that our minds, bodies, and spirits are interconnected is a natural progression with this line of thinking. When we start to feel poorly in one area of our lives, there is a chance that the underlying, root issue stems from another area of ourselves entirely.
The Pillars of Wellness
Before delving into how to care for each piece of your health, let’s first talk about the pillars that impact your wellness. Each one plays a critical role.
- Physical health is maintained through nutrition, exercise, and traditional medicine.
- Emotional and mental health focus on a person’s feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, seeking balance through techniques such as psychotherapy, stress management, and mindfulness.
- Spiritual health nurtures the spirit through practices like meditation, prayer, or community involvement, which provide a sense of purpose and connection.
My Approach to Holistic Healing in Colorado Springs
There are so many ways to care for your health, especially as you begin to view it from an integrated perspective. There isn’t one single person who will have all the skills needed to treat every area of your life. Just like you might see a general practitioner and be referred to a specialist for a physical ailment, there are specialists in many different arenas. The following are a few ways in which I help my clients care for their whole being.
Massage Therapy
A professional massage in Colorado Springs can alleviate physical complaints like sore, achy muscles. Taking time for yourself to care for your body also can help to relieve stress that you may not have even realized you were holding.
Energy Cleansing
I offer a few modalities of energy cleansing, and my clients often report feeling lighter, more clear, and fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression following a session. Reiki and Limpia energy work are the two most common methods I use, and both can deeply care for the client’s spirit. If you’re experiencing an energy block or feeling “stuck” in your life, an energy cleansing session can often help.
Spiritual Life Coaching
As a certified life coach, I have a passion for helping others to discover their beliefs and live in alignment with their values. A compassionate, listening ear and an outside perspective can be transformative in helping us to navigate life’s challenges.
